If you are like me you have sat around at many parties talking about businesses you want to start. And if you are also like me you haven’t actually started any of them. But if you have…well…you are more like this week’s guest, Brett Johnson.
Brett, along with his wife and aunt, founded Empanadas Aqui, a Cincinnati food truck that serves a variety of Venezuelan street food, particularly (but not limited to) empanadas.
Brett’s story is a fascinating one- from the conversation that started it all, his time at Bad Girl Ventures (a local micro-lending organization), to the sacrifices and lessons he has learned along the way. His story is not only entertaining, it is really helpful for anyone who is trying to start their own business. The lessons Brett has applied and learned are helpful for anyone on the start up journey and the people who have helped him are an inspiration for the type of supportive community we all need around us, whether you are an entrepreneur or not.
If you have never tried Empanadas Aqui make sure to stop by his truck next time you see it. It is bright green and hard to miss. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.
