Have you ever had someone ask you, “What is your idea?” only to see their eyes start to glaze over and fill with the regret of asking you in the first place because you are 5 minutes in and barely getting started? Yeah me neither.
This episode should help solve that problem. It is all about crafting a core message. A core message, is the single message that you will use to tell the world what your idea is, who it is for, and why it is important. Done well a core message is like a light to moth, it will attract people to your business. Done poorly, however, it can get people to deselect you before you even get a chance to win them over.
That is why we are looking at an exercise from the book “Will it Fly” by Pat Flynn. It is a part of a chapter called, The One Sentence it is a simple, three step process to creating a meaningful core message that you can put out into the world to let everyone know who you are.
We will also look at some core messages that I think are good and a couple that I think are not-so-good, as well as I will share both my personal core message as well as the one sentence for the Podcast.
