If you are like Drew (which I am) you are constantly talking about wanting to start your own business and you have no shortage of ideas to talk about. But, after years of keeping the books for a variety of non-profits and small businesses, Drew was tired of only talking about being an entrepreneur and decided, as one famous American put it, (RIP Elvis) it was time for “A little less conversation, a little more action, please”.
So Drew decided to transfer his knowledge and experience into a business called The Trellis Club. A cloud-based book keeping service that helps small business set the financial foundation that they need to thrive.
Drew and I talk about why finances are often so messy for startups, what led him to wanting to start his own business, and what that meant for his wife and newborn son. To wrap it all up Drew helps us with some basic financial nuggets and resources that can help people who are starting their own businesses and don’t know where to start.
